ENSURING ELECTRIC VEHICLE SAFETY THROUGH METHODICAL DEVELOPMENT AND TESTING

ABSTRACT

The automotive industry ensures Electric Vehicle (EV) safety through systematic methods. Compliance with local and international safety standards and real-world testing is the key to EV safety. All electrical high voltage components and systems in an EV undergo thorough testing and verification for insulation, fault detection, and circuit protection. Rigorous testing of EV batteries, including crash and thermal tests, is also essential. Besides that, vehicle designs prioritize weight distribution, crumple zones, and structural reinforcement for crash safety. On the other hand, software development includes validation to prevent software-related safety issues. To top everything up, an EV goes through exhaustive vehicle level testing and that verifies vehicle design, built and durability for safe use by the public.
