(UTM)<\/p>\n<p>Contact: <a href=\"mailto:lwoeijye@utm.my\">lwoeijye@utm.my<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Prof. Dr. Woei Jye Lau is currently a Professor at School of Chemical and Energy Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and a senior research fellow at Advanced Membrane Technology Research Centre (AMTEC), UTM. He obtained his Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical-Gas Engineering and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Chemical Engineering from UTM. Prof. Lau has a very strong research interest in the field of membrane science and technology for water applications. He has published over 150 scientific papers, 15 reviews and 18 book chapters with citation exceeding 5000 and h-index of 37. Currently, he is a senior lecturer in the Department of Renewable Energy Engineering, Faculty of Petroleum and Renewable Energy Engineering and a research fellow at Advanced Membrane Technology Research Centre (AMTEC), UTM. Before working in UTM, he worked as an assistant professor in Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Kuala Lumpur between September 2009 and June 2010.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Dr Lau has a very strong research interest in the fields of water and wastewater treatment processes using membrane-based technologies, in particular ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis. At present, he has &gt;60 ISI-indexed scientific publications and has an <em>h<\/em>-index of 12. As at June 2015, 7 of his postgraduate research students under his supervision\/co-supervision have completed their studies and another 7 are now pursuing their Master\/PhD studies.
