<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Advanced Membrane Technology Research Centre (AMTEC),\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>previously known as Membrane Research Unit (MRU)<\/strong> was established\u00a0<\/span>in 1990 in <\/span>Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Campus\u00a0<\/span>(UTMKL). Upon the organisation restructuring, the research unit has\u00a0<\/span>been moved to UTM Skudai in 2002.<\/span> \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.16″ custom_padding=”|||” global_colors_info=”{}” custom_padding__hover=”|||”][et_pb_text admin_label=”Services Section Subtitle” _builder_version=”4.16″ text_line_height=”1.9em” background_size=”initial” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat” text_orientation=”center” max_width=”710px” module_alignment=”center” animation_style=”fold” animation_direction=”bottom” animation_intensity_fold=”20%” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n In November 2015, AMTEC has been officially recognized as\u00a0\u00a0the Higher\u00a0Institution Centres of Excellence (HiCoE) in the niche of Water\u00a0Reclamation by the Ministry of Higher Education. With the\u00a0acknowledgement as HiCoE, extensive network and partnership with\u00a0various institutions and agencies locally and internationally are\u00a0established to contribute towards water reclamation development.\u00a0AMTEC represents vehicles for researchers and postgraduate students\u00a0to undertake multidisciplinary research that are internationally\u00a0recognized and meeting global standard in the area of membrane\u00a0technology for water reclamation. All members in AMTEC have initiate\u00a0and lead several joint research projects with local and international\u00a0universities and industries. The knowledge and findings from these\u00a0collaboration research projects have contributed to the research\u00a0findings that benefit to humankind and environment.\u00a0As part of the recognition to the efforts and outputs in research,\u00a0development and innovation activities, several inventions of AMTEC\u00a0members have been awarded in local and international level. In\u00a0addition, AMTEC members have actively involved in translational\u00a0research that has a positive impact to the community. This is to ensure\u00a0that the outcome of the research can be a solution to the national and\u00a0global issues. AMTEC is also one of the collaborative partners for the\u00a0organization of the International Conference on Membrane Science &\u00a0Technology (MST) which is held biannually.
