ACTIVE MEDICAL DEVICES CERTIFICATION COURSE<\/h2>\n

Basic Active Medical Devices (BAMD) and Intermediate Active Medical Devices (IAMD) Certification Courses have been hosted by EPI Academy Sdn. Bhd. with the support from IJN-UTM Cardiovascular Engineering Centre. The courses were delivered few times in 2024, starting from February until September 2024, for interactively 6 days for each Course.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The BAMD Course is intended to provide basic knowledge and practical experience on basic active medical devices for the participants to safely and competently undertake servicing activities. This Course also covers the basic topics of electrical safety and equipment management. Specifically, the BAMD Course is focusing on the hands-on of electrocardiogram, patient monitor, dental operating unit, infusion device, centrifuge and cardiotocography.\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

While the IAMD Course is to deliver intermediate knowledge and practical experience of active medical devices, to allow the participants to safely and competently undertake maintenance of intermediate medical devices. The Course is ideally suited to those with knowledge of intermediate medical electronics equipment but lacking experience with intermediate biomedical systems. Among medical devices that have been focused on during the hands-on session are ventilator, general anaesthesia machine, defibrillator, electrosurgical unit, haemodialysis, ultrasound and endoscopy. In supporting the Course, four staff from Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Syafiqah Saidin, Assoc. Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Nasrul Humaimi Mahmood, Dr. Muhammad Faiz Md Shakhih and Mr. Arief Ruhullah A. Harris were involved to train the participants from various companies including Medivest Sdn. Bhd., Healthronics (M) Sdn. Bhd., private and general hospitals.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
