IRSPBL Workshops

In conjunction with the 4th International Research Symposium on Problem Based Learning (IRSPBL) on 2-3 July 2013, a few workshops will be organised before, during and after the symposium.

1. Workshop on “PBL Models & Best Practices”
Date: 1 July 2013  |  9.00am – 12.00p.m

In the first part of this workshop some examples of best practice in PBL will be introduced. After following this programme, the participants will be able to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of different PBL formats as well as identify the model that is suitable for their own institution. Example models include: The Aalborg Model, The PBL philosophy from McMaster and Maastricht, Cooperative Problem-based Learning, etc.

2. Workshop on “Initiating Students to PBL”

Self-directed collaboration in small groups is a core characteristic of PBL. Students will need to learn how to run their own group-meetings and to plan their own study activities. The afternoon programme consists of practice exercises aiming to introduce students to PBL. After this workshop, the participants will be able to help students in planning and developing teamwork skills.

The maximum number of participants in each workshop is 80. Registration is open to all on first come first served basis. Registration of the workshops can be made to the Secretariat at:
