Modern, completely equipped laboratories and highly motivated academic staff are important factors in the development of and engineering institution. Realizing this, UTM CRC has already taken steps to equip its laboratories and workshops with new testing and machinery instrumentation costing million of ringgit.<\/span><\/p>\n Equipment and facilities are available for full scale testing of structural elements such as columns, beams, frames, trusses, bridge girders bearings and many others. Provide building materials testing such as concrete, cement and other cementitious materials. The combination of multipurpose testing frames strong floor and high loading capacity actuators allows various forms of full-scale tests to be feasible. Test could be carried out under tensile, compression, bending and dynamic loading.<\/span><\/p>\n To minimize data handling and obtain accurate experimental results, the instrumentation Laboratory is equipped with measuring instruments designed to the latest technology. This includes computer based data acquisition and processing system, which allow automatic data collection.<\/span><\/p>\n Provide building materials testing such as concrete, cement and other cementitious materials.<\/span><\/p>\n Provide fire testing for research works and consultation. This laboratory is the only laboratory in Malaysia which testing piles in high heat. Its main function is to examine the beam in a high temperature and load up to 1000kN or equal to 100 tons.
