On 14 August 2026, the Centre for River and Coastal Engineering (CRCE), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), had the pleasure of supporting AIESEC in Johor Bahru as a Learning Partner for ECHO 9.0 \u2013 River Cleaning, held at Sungai Skudai.<\/p>\n

The programme brought together young volunteers with a shared commitment to environmental sustainability and community action. The river-cleaning activity focused on removing solid waste from the river environment while raising awareness of the importance of protecting our waterways and maintaining a healthy ecosystem.<\/p>\n

Through initiatives such as ECHO 9.0, environmental action goes beyond simply cleaning a river. It is about building awareness, encouraging responsible practices, and empowering young people to become active contributors to a more sustainable future.<\/p>\n

CRCE UTM is proud to be part of this meaningful initiative and to contribute our knowledge and expertise towards promoting sustainable river management and environmental stewardship.<\/p>\n

A big thank you to AIESEC in Johor Bahru and all the dedicated volunteers for your energy, commitment and teamwork. Together, let us continue to protect our rivers today for a healthier and more sustainable tomorrow.<\/p>\n
