The programme served as a meaningful platform for knowledge exchange and research discussion in materials science, sustainable functional materials, nanoscience, optoelectronic sensors, and advanced photoelectric functional materials.<\/p>\n<p>The international seminar brought together prominent researchers, academicians, and postgraduate students from Malaysia, China, the United States of America, Portugal, and France. The programme featured distinguished plenary speakers who shared recent developments and research perspectives across multidisciplinary scientific fields.<\/p>\n<p>Among the highlights was a plenary talk by Prof. Dr. Chang Ming Li, a member of the European Academy of Sciences (EurASc), who presented on \u201cAdvanced Batteries and Industrialization.\u201d In addition, Prof. Dr. Daniel Scherman from the Centre for Health Chemistry and Biotechnology Society at Universit\u00e9 Paris Descartes (UPD) shared his research findings on gene delivery vectors, further enriching the seminar\u2019s scientific scope.<\/p>\n<p>The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International) of UTM, Prof. Ts. Dr. Intan Zaurah Mat Darus, also served as a plenary speaker. She delivered a talk entitled \u201cBeyond Borders: How Global Collaboration Drives Innovation and Academic Excellence,\u201d emphasising the importance of international collaboration in advancing innovation, academic excellence, and global research impact.<\/p>\n<p>The seminar was chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lee Siew Ling from UTM, with Prof. Dr. Wei Sun from HNNU serving as the vice-chair. Their leadership, together with the support of programme committee members from both universities, contributed significantly to the successful implementation of the seminar.<\/p>\n<p>A research discussion session between UTM and HNNU researchers was also held during the programme. Through this session, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration in joint research, postgraduate supervision, and joint publication.<\/p>\n<p>The organisation of this seminar further enhanced the strategic research partnership between UTM and HNNU, particularly in sustainable nanomaterials, functional materials, and advanced photoelectric research. It also reflected UTM\u2019s continuous commitment to expanding international research visibility, strengthening academic networks, and promoting impactful global partnerships.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, the seminar marked another important milestone in the growing collaboration between UTM and HNNU. It is my responsibility becoming a new director of Centre for Sustainable\u00a0Nanomaterials, or it is well-known as CSNano. My education background is chemistry (BSc\u00a0(Industrial Chemistry), MSc (Chemistry), PhD (Chemistry)) and all of my tertiary level of\u00a0educations are from Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. My main affiliate is\u00a0Department of Biosciences, Faculty of Science, UTM and because of this, my research\u00a0expertise is applied materials science for biological and medical areas. I am professional\u00a0chemist (ChM) under Malaysian Institute of Chemistry and Chartered Chemist (CChem)\u00a0under Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), UK. Being a director for CSNano, my main aim for\u00a0this centre is to lead a re-known centre for research and development in sustainable\u00a0nanomaterials area nationally and globally.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff\">CSNano is under Ibnu Sina Institute for Scientific and Industrial Research (ISI-SIR), UTM\u00a0and the mission is to grow into a centre-of-excellence for conducting advanced research,\u00a0development, and demonstration of fundamental and applied science research in materials\u00a0sciences for the global impact. Our main R&amp;D is focusing on sustainable nanomaterials<\/span><br \/> <span style=\"color: #ffffff\"> where the development of nanomaterials are based on sustainable approaches and also, the\u00a0sustainable application of nanomaterials. The research areas in CSNano includes but not\u00a0limited to heterogeneous catalysts, porous nanomaterials, supramolecular functional nanomaterials, nano\/molecular photochemistry, biomaterials, green biosynthesis\u00a0nanoparticles, semiconductor nanostructures, analytical science, separation chemistry,\u00a0organometallic chemistry, physics of low dimensional structure, quantum chemistry and\u00a0Fussy modelling. Beside R&amp;D, our aim include dissemination of knowledge related to\u00a0nanotechnology, nanomaterials, nanoparticles, nanocomposite etc. and their application in\u00a0various fields.
