Structural fire engineering is rapidly gaining momentum around the world. Therefore, this course is aim to provide a fundamental to structural fire engineering and how to apply this at design stage. This involves estimating the temperature in building compartment and the temperatures profile of individual structural members get exposed to as a function of time. This course perhaps gain intentions to structure engineers in early stage of design time then dealt with by the architects or fire engineers afterwards rather than the structural engineers getting involved on the building side. Dr. Mariyana obtained her B.Sc. (Hons) Civil Eng. from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, M.Sc. (Eng) from University of Pavia, Italy and Ph.D from University of Edinburgh, Scotland. Her research interest includes behavior of structural at elevated temperature and earthquake loading. Structural fire engineering is rapidly gaining momentum around the world. Therefore, this course is aim to provide a fundamental to structural fire engineering and how to apply this at design stage. This involves estimating the temperature in building compartment and the temperatures profile of individual structural members get exposed to as a function of time. This course perhaps gain intentions to structure engineers in early stage of design time then dealt with by the architects or fire engineers afterwards rather than the structural engineers getting involved on the building side. Dr. Mariyana obtained her B.Sc. (Hons) Civil Eng. from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, M.Sc. (Eng) from University of Pavia, Italy and Ph.D from University of Edinburgh, Scotland. Her research interest includes behavior of structural at elevated temperature and earthquake loading.
