The Biomass and Biomaterial Unit at IBD was established in 2026 to advance research on the sustainable utilisation of biological resources and agricultural waste in Malaysia. The unit focuses on converting biomass into value-added biomaterials and bio-based products through innovative processing and material development. Its research emphasises sustainability, resource efficiency, and the development of environmentally friendly alternatives to conventional materials. The unit also explores local biomass resources as potential raw materials for applications in industry, energy, and green technology.<\/p>\n
