The IJN-UTM Cardiovascular Engineering Centre (IJN-UTM CEC) has partnered with Monash University, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Pahang, and University of Southampton Malaysia to co-organize the Asia-Pacific Society for Artificial Organ Congress 2023 (APSAO).<\/span>The organizer successfully secured funding of approximately RM 30,000 from the Japanese Society for Artificial Organs (JSAO) for this event. The Congress was held for two days, from 25th to 26th September 2023, at the PAUM Clubhouse in the University of Malaya. The Congress brought together 24 guest speakers, 35 presenters, 13 participants, and 5 companies.<\/span><\/p>\n

The participation of the National Heart Institute (IJN) as a booth exhibitor, along with Dato’ Dr. Suhaini Kadiman, the Director of Clinical Research at IJN, as the keynote speaker, has contributed significantly to the advancement of cardiovascular research and practice in Malaysia. Dr. Syafiqah Saidin, the Director of IJN-UTM CEC, was also invited to present her research talk in tissue engineering as one of the guest speakers. The Congress concluded with the Annual Business & Council Meeting of APSAO, which Prof. Dr. Goro Matsumiya, the President of APSAO, chaired.<\/span><\/p>\n
