The workshop aimed to give UTM students and staff exposure to Arduino applications in daily life. Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Tan Tian Swee, a fellow at IJN-UTM CEC, and Mr. Matthias Tiong Foh Thye, the invited facilitator, delivered the event. Twenty-one participants, including staff and students, were involved in this workshop.<\/p>\n
The workshop began with an introduction to Arduino, explaining its components, functions, and potential applications. Participants learned about the basics of Arduino programming and the importance of microcontrollers in modern technology. The instructors provided detailed demonstrations on how to set up Arduino boards, write simple code, and troubleshoot common issues.<\/p>\n
Through interactive sessions, participants engaged and explored how Arduino can be utilized in various real-world applications. They were exposed to creating simple electronic circuits, controlling LEDs, and integrating sensors to gather data. These learning processes highlighted the versatility of Arduino in automating tasks, developing prototypes, and enhancing everyday life through technology.<\/p>\n
The workshop enhanced the technical skills of UTM’s community and encouraged a culture of innovation and experimentation. By providing a foundational understanding of Arduino, the workshop paved the way for participants to pursue more advanced projects and integrate these technologies into their academic, professional, and personal lives.
