The Kota Tinggi Generation Welfare Association (PKGM), in partnership with the Sports Innovation &amp; Technology Centre (SITC), organized the tournament on February 10, 2024, at the prestigious Jubli Intan Hall in Kota Tinggi. The event was graced by the presence of Ts. Dr. Hadafi Fitri Mohd Latip, the Director of SITC, not only accompanied the participants as a lecturer but also provided valuable insights into the significance of such events in promoting sports innovation and community welfare. <\/p>\n<p>The tournament was officially inaugurated by Dato Seri Khaled Nordin, the Minister of Defense and Member of Parliament for Kota Tinggi, whose presence underscored the importance of sports in fostering unity and discipline within the community. One hundred ten participants, including students from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH) at UTM and members of the public, took part in this thrilling competition. The event was designed not only as a sporting competition but also as a vital component of the knowledge transfer program, aimed at bridging the gap between academic institutions and the wider society.<\/p>\n<p>The Muay Thai tournament provided a vibrant and energetic atmosphere, with participants showcasing their skills, discipline, and sportsmanship. It was a platform where students could apply the theoretical knowledge gained in their academic studies to real-world scenarios, thus enhancing their learning experience. The tournament also served as an opportunity to foster community engagement, allowing participants and spectators alike to experience the cultural richness and physical demands of Muay Thai. <\/p>\n<p>The event went beyond just the physical competition; it also emphasized the role of sports in holistic education, promoting physical fitness, mental resilience, and social cohesion. The successful execution of the tournament highlighted the collaborative efforts of PKGM and SITC in promoting sports at the grassroots level, positively impacting the community by encouraging active participation in physical activities.
