Description	…………..	:	..	Verification and modification of the MODIS OC3M algorithm were conducted to retrieve better accuracy of the ocean colour
	…………..		..	product of phytoplankton biomass (chlorophyll-a concentration, Chl-a) in the Malacca Straits (MS). From the verification of OC3M algorithm, the OC3M retrieved in the Case-2 (south station) water remarkably overestimated in-situ Chl-a, but then the OC3M retrieved in the Case-1 (north station) water remarkably underestimated in-situ Chl-a. An iterative fitting routine technique was employed to locally tune the OC3M algorithm for better accuracy of Chl-a retrieval in the MS.
