Kota Tinggi, Johor \u2013 A Training of Trainers (ToT) workshop was successfully conducted on 21 & 24 February 2025<\/strong> at Sekolah Kebangsaan Mawai, Kota Tinggi, Johor<\/strong>. The initiative aimed to introduce and transfer knowledge on Solar Photovoltaic (PV) technology to teachers from selected schools around Kampung Orang Asli Sungai Selangi, empowering educators with the necessary skills and understanding to educate students about renewable energy, particularly solar power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This program was organized by Jawatankuasa Kolej Mahasiswa Kolej Perdana, UTM<\/strong>, with PM. Ir. Ts. Dr. Jasrul Jamani bin Jamian, the Principal of Kolej Perdana, as the program advisor<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop was divided into two phases:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phase 1:<\/strong> Teachers from three selected schools underwent training sessions to familiarize themselves with Solar PV technology, including its functionality and applications. The selection of participating schools was carried out in collaboration with the Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah (PPD) to ensure suitability. During this phase, teachers received theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience using simple learning kits to conduct practical activities related to solar energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phase 2:<\/strong> In this phase, trained teachers engaged students in two key activities at Kampung Orang Asli Sungai Selangi:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Knowledge Transfer to Students:<\/strong> Teachers conducted hands-on learning sessions with students, demonstrating Solar PV technology through simple experiments using the learning kits. Their ability to convey this knowledge effectively was evaluated by lecturers from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), who provided feedback and suggestions for improvement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Exposure to Real-World Applications:<\/strong> Both teachers and students were taken to observe an actual Solar PV system in operation within Kampung Orang Asli Sungai Selangi. This activity provided participants with a firsthand experience of solar energy applications on a larger scale, including system operations, monitoring, and usage in real-life scenarios.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Participation Details:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • On 21 February<\/strong>, 7 IVAT staff members and 3 IVAT students<\/strong> were involved.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • On 24 February<\/strong>, 4 IVAT staff members and 1 IVAT student<\/strong> were involved.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      This initiative not only enhanced teachers’ proficiency in renewable energy education but also equipped students with valuable insights into sustainable technology. The program served as a stepping stone toward fostering awareness and interest in renewable energy among young learners, potentially inspiring future innovations in the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
