The laser emits ultrashort optical pulses with pulse duration in the femtosecond range (10<sup>-15<\/sup> s).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Femtosecond lasers are extremely useful in researches and industrial application due to its short optical pulse and high peak power. Most energy dissipation and transfer process that occur on the time scale larger than 100 fs. Therefore, femtosecond laser pulses able to excite the samples instantly which leads to application of femtosecond lasers in spectroscopy. Femtosecond lasers can cause multi-photon absorption, optical harmonic generations, material ablation due to its high peak power property. Examples other applications of femtosecond lasers are Micro-machining and Cutting semiconductor wafer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Laser center has 1 unit of JENOPTIK JenLas D2.fs femtosecond laser with 1025 nm output wavelength. In addition, the femtosecond laser is fitted with D2.fs SHG &amp; AOM setup. Through this addition, the laser capable of producing 515 nm second harmonic beam and it is also possible to generate down to single femtosecond pulse from the laser.
