A meeting was held on February 18, 2025, at Menara Razak UTM Kuala Lumpur to lay the groundwork for a new collaboration between UTM and TrackerHero. The primary focus of the discussion was to leverage this partnership for student-centric initiatives that benefit both parties. A key aspect of the collaboration is to provide UTM’s Faculty of Artificial Intelligence (FAI) students with valuable practical experience. This includes opportunities for Industry Training, Project-Based Learning, Internships, and AI Engineering Talks.

Students will be able to participate in industry training programs at TrackerHero’s facilities, gaining firsthand exposure to real-world AI applications and industry best practices. The collaboration will integrate projects relevant to the industry into the undergraduate curriculum, allowing students to apply their theoretical knowledge to practical AI challenges. TrackerHero will provide internships for UTM students, offering them important hands-on experiences and networking opportunities within the industry. Industry experts from TrackerHero will conduct guest lectures and workshops, sharing their expertise and insights with UTM students and faculty.

Moreover, the collaboration extends beyond training to encompass joint research initiatives. UTM and TrackerHero will collaborate on research projects that tackle contemporary challenges in AI, leveraging the university’s academic strengths alongside the company’s real-world data and insights. This joint effort aims to generate impactful research outputs and advance AI knowledge. A vital component of the partnership is the establishment of a cutting-edge satellite lab within the FAI building. Equipped with TrackerHero’s innovative technology, this lab will serve as a connection between academia and industry, offering students a dynamic learning environment while showcasing TrackerHero’s AI solutions. This initiative ensures that students remain closely connected to the real-world applications of AI technologies.

The partnership will facilitate a continuous and seamless transfer of knowledge and technology between UTM and TrackerHero, ensuring that UTM’s curriculum stays aligned with industry needs. This prepares graduates for successful careers in the AI field. Additionally, UTM will gain access to TrackerHero’s advanced resources and expertise, which will enhance its overall research capabilities. The collaboration is set for rapid progress.

This collective effort demonstrates UTM’s forward-thinking approach to education and research, which not only benefits UTM students but also significantly contributes to building a robust and innovative AI ecosystem in Malaysia. The impact of this collaboration will extend beyond the university, fostering growth and development within the broader Malaysian community.
