Egypt, Nov 5 – In a prestigious ceremony held during the Annual Arab Asian Biotechnology Conference (AABC 2025) at the Bibliotheca Alexandria, Egypt, Professor Dr. Hesham Ali El Enshasy was awarded the “Best Arab Biotechnology Scholar in Industrial Biotechnology 2025” by The Arab Society for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ASGEB). The award recognises outstanding scholars whose contributions have significantly advanced the field of industrial biotechnology.
The highlight of the conference was Prof. Dr. Hesham Ali El Enshasy’s keynote presentation titled “Translational Research and Innovation in Biotechnology Industries,” which showcased his visionary approach in bridging research and industrial applications, inspiring the scientific and professional community alike.
A Career of Distinction and Leadership
Prof. Hesham’s journey in biotechnology began with a strong foundation in chemical and biological sciences, culminating in his appointment as full professor in the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Energy at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2008. He served as the Director of the Institute of Bioproduct Development (IBD) from 2018 to 2024 and currently leads the Innovation Centre in Agritechnology for Advanced Bioprocessing (ICA) since 2024.
Throughout his illustrious career, Prof. Hesham has demonstrated remarkable leadership in research, innovation, and education in industrial biotechnology.
