GCRF Water Security & Sustainable Development Hub Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) & Theory of Change (TOC) Workshop
JOHOR BAHRU, 14th JULY 2019 – The GCRF Water Security & Sustainable Development Hub Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) and Theory of Change (TOC) Workshop was held in the meeting room of the Centre for Environmental Sustainability and Water Security (IPASA), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Johor Bahru from 9th to 11th July 2019. It was two and a half day workshop, with the aim to develop clarity around the intended results of Malaysia collaboratory, which is central to enabling good project management.The workshop was intended to assist Malaysia collaboratory reflection on Theory of Change in relation to a particular water security issue. Moreover, as this GCRF Hub constituted 5 countries: United Kingdom, Malaysia, India, Colombia and Ethiopia, TOC is in placed to ensure all collaboratories are working towards the same goal. The workshop was facilitated by Lucy Gray from INTRAC, who is one of the development consultants appointed to provide MEL support to this programme. Besides that, representatives from Newcastle University: Dr. Claire Walsh, Dr. Victoria Anker and Ms. Carolyn Grundy showed supports by coming all the way from Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom to attend the workshop. Two representatives, Dr. Michaela Goodson and Dr. Jeyanthy Eswaran from Newcastle University Medicine Malaysia (NUMed) attended the workshop as well. Nonetheless, after the workshop, everybody has a clear defined goal to achieve and went home with a clearer and better understanding of the MEL and TOC.
