ABOUT ADC

Automotive Development Centre (ADC) was formed in 1997 to consolidate research efforts in the area of automotive engineering in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). ADC now comes under the Institute of Vehicle Systems and Engineering (IVESE) as one of its three core research centres.

The centre is equipped with adequate facilities such test beds, instrumentations and ancillary equipments to undertake projects related to automotive component development and systems. It other role is to foster collaboration with industries and research establishments for the advancement in automotive technology in the contact of Malaysia’s automotive vision and policy. ADC’s niche area is “Next Generation Vehicle Technology”.

Currently it has a staff of 13 people comprising of 10 researchers, 1 research officer and 2 assistant engineers. With a series of on-going projects it has a postgraduate population around 20 students, at MEng and PhD.
