IJN-UTM Cardiovascular Engineering Centre or known as IJN-UTM Cardio Centre is one of the UTM Centre of Excellence (CoE), under the management of Institute of Human Centered Engineering (iHumEn). It was established in 2013 with a collaboration between National Heart Institute (Institut Jantung Negara – IJN) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM)

System Demonstration: IJN i-RMS System
13 March 2025
The system demonstration of IJN Integrated Research Management System (i-RMS) was presented by Dr. Mohamed Haider Abu Yazid as the person-in-charge for the industrial grant. The system was fully developed for the management of research data at IJN. It will be configured and managed further by the team of IJN Clinical Research. Existing data migration will be the next step for system utilisation.

Management Committee Meeting with IJN Clinical Research is attended by Adj. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Suhaini Kadiman, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Syafiqah Saidin, Dr. Hau Yuan Wen, Mr. Faizal Ramli and Mr. Hilmi Abdul Rahman. The achievement and KPI for IJN-UTM CEC in 2024 was reported as well the planning for 2025 was mapped.
International Research Symposium on Technological Advancements (IRSTA 2025)
03 – 04 February 2025
IJN-UTM CEC has successfully co-organized the IRSTA 2025 with the main host from Department of Biomedical Engineering, Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET), Pakistan. Other co-organizer includes Southern University College, Malaysia. This Symposium is a forward step for our future MoU declaration.
Strategic Planning Workshop IJN-UTM CEC 2025

IJN-UTM CEC 2025 & Farewell for our Research Officer, Nur Arbainah Shamsul Annuar. The Strategic Planning Workshop for IJN-UTM CEC was conducted for a day at Hyatt Place, Paradigm to have a glance view on the last year achievement and to plan excel strategies for this year, 2025. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ezza Syuhada and Mdm. Zuridah were invited to enlighten the strategies for achieving high HICoE marks. The program was continued with the farewell of our RO, Mdm. Nur Arbainah and the welcoming of our new RO, Mr. Hilmi.
Product Mapping and Certification Strategy at Medical Device Authority

A meeting with Medical Device Authority (MDA) under the Ministry of Health (MoH) on the strategy to forward few medical device inventions of IJN-UTM CEC into certification and pre-commercialization phases. Three products are in the pipeline for the certification process.
Erasmus+ Mobility at Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, Spain

Ts. Dr. Raimi Dewan has participated in the mobility Erasmus+ Program at Center for Biomedical Technology, Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, Spain for 7 days, hosted by Prof. Dr. Jose Javier Serrano Olmedo. During the mobility program, few activities were conducted: Laboratories visit, research sharing and training.

Gotong-royong pembersihan perabot terpakai dan gotong-royong pengubahsuaian tiga makmal iaitu Cardiac Modelling Lab I & II serta Computational Fluid Modelling Lab telah dilakukan bagi penempatan semula lokasi makmal yang strategik. Kini, makmal-makmal IJN-UTM CEC adalah berpusat di tingkat 2 dan 3, blok B, bangunan V01.Â
