Congratulation Dr. Syafiqah Saidin for securing RM800,000 for the Hi-Tech F4 Grant, entitled ‘Advanced Materials for Biodegradable Implant with Osseocompatibility Properties. There are 3 Projects under this one Program and she is the Project Leader for Project 3.

First Winner of YPWLC 2022
Congratulation Rathosivan Gopal as Malaysia’s representative for winning the First Place in Young Person’s World Lecture Competition (YPWLC 2022). He presented the project under the supervision of Dr. Syafiqah Saidin with the title ‘Immobilisation of factor VII through polydopamine grafting of polycaprolactone membrane for cardiac bleeding’.

A research visit to Jeonbuk National University (JBNU), Jeonju, Korea. Prof. Dr. Hak Yong Kim as the Prof at JBNU and Distinguished Prof at UTM has invited Dr. Syafiqah Saidin to KIMET Centre and his laboratories for further discussion on MoU and joint research project.

Dr. Jasmy Yunus as the Academic CEO of EPI Academy where the content includes research, professional service and academic.

Erasmus+ Mobility Program to TUIL Ilmenau, Germany
A delegation from IJN-UTM CEC participated by Prof. Eko Supriyanto and Dr. Syafiqah Saidin have visited biomedical engineering laboratories at Technische Universitat Ilmenau, Germany with a continuous discussion on research collaboration. Several meeting have been set up with industries including Jena Hosp, Supracon, etc and with research groups including Advanced Electromagnetic Group, Virtual World and Digital Game Group.Â

Basic First Aid & CPR Training
IJN-UTM CEC and Pusat Kesihatan UTM (PKU) has organised a one-day Basic First Aid & CPR Training which comprised both theoretical and practical session. Dr. Firdaus from PKU as the main speaker was assisted by Sister Aisyah and Mdm Rashidah in delivering the practical training on adult AED, CPR, baby CPR, baby choking, bandage treatment, etc. A total of 24 participants has joined the training.

A Research Visit from BioMa and MPROVE, UTHM
A group of 2 staff and 4 postgraduate students from Bioactive Material Research Centre (BioMa) and Mechanical Failure Prevention and Reliability Research Centre (MPROVE), UTHM has visited IJN-UTM CEC to collaborate on osteoblast cell study. They are interested to be exposed with the facilities and laboratories related to osteblast culture and was brought to Biocompatibility and Biomedical Sciences laboratories.

A research visit by Prof. Dr. Ing. Habil. Jens Haueisen from Technische Universitat Ilmenau, Germany to IJN-UTM CEC. His 2 days visit was scheduled with collaboration meeting, lab visit, research talk, industrial visit and Vice Chancellor meeting. Prof. Haueisen was accompanied by Jun. Prof. Dr. Ing. Patrique Fiedler and Mr Hannes Oppermann from the same institution.

A visit from IT-PLN to IJN-UTM CEC. 10 staff of IT-PLN are currently pursuing their postgraduate study at UTM under the supervision of Prof. Eko Supriyanto with sponsorship covered by IT-PLN. PLN is known as Perusahaan Listrik Negara which responsible to supply electrical energy at Indonesia.

iHumEn Strategic Planning and MKiNE 2022

Visit from UTHM Delegates
IJN-UTM CEC has welcome Delegates from Universiti Tun Hussien Onn (UTHM) on 10 March 2022. The delegation was lead by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mahadi Abdul Jamil, followed by Dr. Mohd Nazib Adam and 2 PhD candidates, Ms. Nur Adilah Abd Rahman and Ms. Suhassni Ganesan. Both students will use the cell culture facilities at the Biocompatibility Laboratory.

GCP Professional Course 2022
Good Clinical Practice Professional Course 2022 was hosted for 3 days through an online content and physical exam modes. There were 5 invited speakers from GCP Committee, NPRA and UTM. The course is intended to provide a platform for participants to attain the GCP cert for handling clinical related experiments.

Congratulation Prof. Dr. -Ing. Eko Supriyanto for securing an international grant from IT-PLN (Institut Teknologi Perusahaaan Listrik Negara, Indonesia). The project entitled Smart Power Management System in Indonesia, worth RM 521,000.

Business Model Canvas (BMC) Workshop
All 6 IJN-UTM research fellows and their team members have involved in developing BMC for their research product projection. The workshop was brilliantly handled by Dr. Logaiswari Indiran, expert in BMC from Azman Hashim International Business School (AHIBS). The introduction to BMC is a step forward to bring clinical & health related research products towards commercialisation.Â
Consultation project at EPI Academy Sdn. Bhd.
Dr. Syafiqah managed to secure RM 20,000 consultation program at EPI Academy Sdn. Bhd. The 24 hours program will be conducted on the area of anatomy and physiology for 6 sessions and 11 hours program on the Basic Medical Devices for 1 session.
