Introduction

Marine Technology Center (formerly known as Marine Technology Laboratory) was established in 1996 and officially opened by our 4th Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad in 1999 and was upgraded to Marine Technology Center in 2003 by Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE). It is the only hydrodynamic center in the country and fulfill the following functions:

* Provides teaching facilities for Marine Technology undergraduate students.
* Facilitate R & D work for academic staff and post-graduate students.
* Serves the Marine Technology needs of the marine industry by providing ship model testing and associated services.

The Center is a member of International Towing Tank Conference (ITTC) since 1998.
