Qatargas has awarded a contract worth approximately $4.5bn to Saipem related to two offshore gas compression complexes for the North field offshore Qatar.
The contract has been awarded for the North Field Production Sustainability (NFPS) Offshore Compression Complexes Project – EPC 2.
Saipem noted that the order marks the ‘largest’ single offshore contract by total value in its history.
Under the contract, Saipem will be responsible for the engineering, procurement, fabrication, and installation of two offshore natural gas compression complexes.
