The APCMfI has organized a minisymposium
Mathematics for Industry in the Asia Pacific Area
Organizers: Zainal Aziz (President of APCMfI), Kenji Kajiwara (Secretary of APCMfI)
at SIAM Conference on Computational Science and Engineering (CSE23),
held at RAI Congress Center, Amsterdam, The Netherland, on February 26 – March 3, 2023,
which is one of the biggest SIAM events.

The minisymposium has been carried out successfully with lots of discussions.
Especially, it was impressive that Professor Wakayama entertained the audience by showing a formula
(2+0+2+3) x (2^2+0^2+2^2+3^2)^2 = 2023.
The APCMfI will continue to organize such minisymposia in other industrial and applied
mathematics events in other areas in the world in order to communicate with various
communities and to raise the recognition of the APCMfI in the worldwide communities.
The following is the abstract and talks of the minisymposium.
Abstract:
This minisymposium presents the research activities under the idea of “Mathematics for
Industry”(MfI) emphasizing on the theoretical and computational aspects. MfI is not limited to
applied or industrial mathematics per se but a new research area of mathematics that aims at
responding to the needs of the industry and society by reorganizing pure and applied mathematics
into flexible and versatile forms. MfI aspires to become the infrastructure for the innovation of
future technologies. Talks by the delegates of the Asia Pacific Consortium of Mathematics for
Industry will be given, with the topics of quantum interaction models, cryptography, data visualization,
geometric shape generation, modeling and analysis of real-world problems.
