UTM CLEAR Strengthens Industry Ties with Networking Visit to Malaysia Pepper Board
Kuching, 9th Dec, 2024 – Centre of Lipids Engineering and Applied Research (CLEAR), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) continues to expand its industry partnerships through a high-impact networking visit to the Malaysia Pepper Board (MPB) headquarters. Led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Liza and accompanied by Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Mazura, the visit underscored UTM CLEAR’s commitment to fostering collaborations that bridge academia and industry.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by Madam Florence Sanjan, Acting Deputy Director-General (Development) of the Malaysia Pepper Board, an agency renowned for its efforts in advancing the cultivation, processing, and global trade of Malaysian pepper. The meeting focused on exploring opportunities for joint research, knowledge sharing, and innovation in sustainable agriculture and value-added product development.
This networking visit reinforces UTM CLEAR’s vision of becoming a leading institution in research and innovation while strengthening Malaysia’s agricultural economy. As the seeds of collaboration are sown, the partnership promises a thriving future for Malaysian pepper and the academic-industry ecosystem.
UTM CLEAR at the UTM FKT-LINKED 2024
Johor Bahru, Oct 20, 2024 – Centre of Lipids Engineering & Applied Research (CLEAR) has been one of the exhibitor in the UTM FKT-Linked 2024 that was held on 20th Oct 2024 at Dewan Sultan Iskandar. The exhibition was organised by the Faculty of Chemical and Energy Engineering and was officiated by the Vice Chancellor of UTM, Prof. Datuk Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Fauzi Ismail. UTM FKT-Linked has received generous participants, sponsors and supports from the industries.
4th ICoST 2023 Champions in Green Separation Technology
Johor Bahru, 18th Feb – The Centre of Lipids Engineering & Applied Research (CLEAR) has successfully concluded International Conference on Separation Technology (ICoST) 2023 for the fourth edition on 18th until 19th February 2023 at Holiday Villa Johor Bahru. The conference embraced the theme “Separation Technology: Rising Towards a Greener Future” and brought together approximately 70 participants from academia and industry across the globe. The conference served as a premier platform for knowledge sharing, focusing on advancements in separation technology to achieve sustainable industrial processes. Delegates from Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Nigeria, Baghdad, and Malaysia participated, reflecting the international importance of the event.
One of the highlights of the conference was the presentation of 58 research papers, covering innovative approaches in separation technology. These contributions were subsequently published in reputable journals, including AIP Conference Proceedings and Materials Today: Proceedings. The published works address key challenges and solutions in the field, from enhancing material efficiency to developing eco-friendly processes, reinforcing the conference’s mission to support sustainable advancements.
Supported by several prominent organisations, Pejabat Setiuasaha Kerajaan Negeri Johor as the main sponsor, as well as other sponsors, Eco Bee Biotech, HA Southern Global Sdn. Bhd. and Mayya Baby, ICoST 2023 underscored the importance of sustainable practices in separation technology, providing a platform for fruitful discussions, networking, and knowledge sharing and being a critical link between academia dan industry. Participants explored cutting-edge research and practical applications, fostering potential collaborations that aim to integrate sustainable practices into industrial operations.

Eco Bee Shop Sdn Bhd currently collaborating with universities such as University Technology Malaysia (UTM), Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) & Monash University Malaysia for research-based study and many more in the future. To save the bees, we can’t do it alone, we need your hands together to make things happen. On behalf of UTM, we hoped that with the awards, it would be the starting point for future partnerships in the sharing of expertise, especially for further research activities in the country. It will also further enhance the level of knowledge and skills of the various parties involved and are confident that this will put the university to a higher level in the world.

All in all, the Workshop once again achieved its objective in getting almost all researchers from the center to sit together, change ideas and knowledge towards ensuring the objective success.
