Description  …………..  : .. Satellite remote sensing observation is well-proved methods to explore earth surface. In oceanography, long-term and inter-
………….. .. annual climatic changes such El Nino/Southern Oscillation (ENSO) have been known to drive and modulate physical processes and thus properties in the ocean through which ocean biological production as a base of ocean food-chain will also be modulated. Marine environment in the Southeast Asian region is one of the region suffers most from the ENSO. While the atmospheric phenomena during ENSO and its forcing to physical processes are well known, how the ENSO contribute to biological production in the Southeast Asian marine environment is still less documented. Sulu Sea is categorized as a deep ocean in Southeast Asia region located along the southwest part of Philippines. It is also semi enclosed water in the western part of Pacific Ocean. Sulu Sea extended from 6° N to 12°N and from 117° E to 123° E, bounded by Borneo at the southwest, Palawan Island (at west) of Sulu Sea. This study investigates the spatially long-term variation on biological production in the western part of Pacific Ocean, with special emphasis on understanding the ENSO climatic forcing. Multi-platform satellite remote sensing data will be used for this study includes ocean color, thermal, and microwave sensor-derived data. SeaWiFS Data Analysis System (SeaDAS version 6) under Linux OS were used for image processing and satellite data analysis.
