Datuk Prof. Ulung Dr. Harith Bin Ahmad
University of Malaya
Datuk Prof. Ulung Dr. Harith is a distinguished pioneer in photonics, greatly contributing to Malaysia’s technological landscape. With a strong foundation in physics and laser technology, his research has led to significant advancements in fiber optics, lasers, and optical waveguides, resulting in 10 patents. As a Professor of Photonics at the University of Malaya, he has played a crucial role in developing devices and techniques for industrial and scientific applications. Beyond academia, he has held influential positions, including Programme Head for the National Photonics Project, driving Malaysia’s progress in cutting-edge technology and innovation.
Prof. Dr. M. Shahid Rafique
University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore, Pakistan
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shahid Rafique is a Professor in the Department of Physics at UET Lahore. Holding a Ph.D. in Physics from Nanyang Technological University Singapore, he completed his Post-Doctoral studies at Vienna University of Technology, Austria. With expertise in Plasma Focus Devices, Atomic Force Microscopy, Scanning Electron Microscope operation, and Radiations Physics, his research spans laser matter interaction, X-ray sources, and vacuum technology. Recognized for his contributions, he received the Dr. Razi-ud-din Siddiqui Gold Medal in Physics and multiple Research Productivity Awards from the Pakistan Council for Science and Technology. He is also an approved Ph.D. supervisor by the Higher Education Commission
Prof. Ir. Dr. Ahmad Ashrif Bin A Bakar
Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia
Prof. Ir. Dr. Ahmad Ashrif A. Bakar, with degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Communications and Network System Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, actively participates in IEEE, Board of Engineers Malaysia, and The Optical Society of America. Focusing on optical sensors, his research addresses biomedical, environmental, and optical techniques, including surface plasmon resonance and optical feedback interferometry. With over 116 research articles, 4 patents, and 9 product developments, he’s secured 55 research grants. Recognized with awards and honors, he also serves as a consultant for industries and contributes to engineering education initiatives.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ian Yulianti
Universitas Negeri Semarang, Indonesia
Dr. Ian Yulianti is a prominent researcher at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), specializing in optical sensors for diverse applications, notably in environmental monitoring and medical fields. Her current project group focuses on waveguide-based optical sensors for detecting heavy metal ions and glucose. With a strong commitment to advancing scientific knowledge, Dr. Yulianti’s contributions to optical engineering are instrumental in addressing pressing societal and healthcare challenges. Her research endeavors significantly enrich UNNES’s academic landscape and contribute to innovative solutions for real-world problems.
