Our Keynote Speakers
Dr Morgan J. Grant is a researcher in the Department of Physics, University of Bristol, United Kingdom, specializing in advanced materials and condensed matter physics. His work focuses on the electronic, magnetic, and superconducting properties of quantum materials, contributing to the understanding of next-generation materials relevant to photonics and optical technologies. He has published in high-impact journals such as Nature Communications, Physical Review B, and Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter. Notably, his work on the “Observation of the Non-linear Meissner Effect” published in Nature Communications represents a significant contribution to the understanding of unconventional superconductivity. His expertise will be a valuable addition to iLATOS 2026, offering unique perspectives that enrich the symposium’s focus on laser technology, photonics, and advanced materials.
Prof. Ir. Dr. Sulaiman Wadi Harun earned his B.E. in Electrical and Electronics System Engineering from Nagaoka University of Technology, Japan, in 1996, followed by his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Photonics Technology from the University of Malaya in 2001 and 2004, respectively. He has nearly two decades of research experience in optical fiber technologies, with significant contributions to fiber amplifiers, lasers, and sensing systems. His work also extends to the integration of advanced nanomaterials—including graphene, carbon nanotubes, black phosphorus, topological insulators, and zinc oxide nanostructures—for photonic device applications. He has published more than 1000 papers in ISI-indexed journals, receiving over 9,000 citations and achieving an h-index exceeding 55. Prof. Harun has supervised more than 90 Ph.D. graduates. He currently serves as an Academic Editor of the International Journal of Optics, holds adjunct professorships at Airlangga University and Brawijaya University in Indonesia, and is a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia. Among his honors are the Malaysian Rising Star Award (2016) and the Optoelectronics Letters Best Paper Award (2023). He is also the founder and honorary advisor of the Optical Society of Malaysia.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Ali Khumaeni is Head of the Research Center for Laser and Advanced Nanotechnology and an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at Universitas Diponegoro, Indonesia. His research focuses on laser spectroscopy, laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS), and laser-based nanomaterials. He obtained his Doctor of Engineering from the University of Fukui, Japan, completing the program in just two years and earning the Best Doctoral Graduate award. He has received several international recognitions, including the Early Career Chemist Award (Pacifichem) and the FACSS Outstanding Paper Award. Dr. Khumaeni has published over 135 peer-reviewed papers and is an active member of major scientific societies, including American Chemical Society, the LIBS Society, Indonesian Physical Society, and Indonesian Optical Society.
Prof. Dr. Mohammad Alam Saeed is a Professor of Physics at the University of Education, Lahore, Pakistan, where he has also served as Vice Chancellor (2023–2024) and Pro-Vice Chancellor (2023–present). He earned his PhD in Physics and has an outstanding research profile, with an H-Index of 119 (Google Scholar), over 51,000 citations, and more than 555 journal publications. His cumulative impact factor exceeds 2325. Prof. Saeed has supervised 15 PhD students and completed 20 research grants. He has held visiting positions at leading international institutions, including Covenant University (Nigeria), Salahaddin University (Iraq), King Abdul Aziz University (Saudi Arabia), and the State University of New York at Albany (USA). He has contributed to major high-energy physics experiments such as CLEO, BaBar, and ATLAS. Prof. Saeed also serves as an editor and reviewer for numerous high-impact WoS and Scopus indexed journals. His research interests span computational materials science and health physics.
