HOLISTICS Lab Sdn Bhd is a spined-off company of UTM. It is co-foundered by Dr Mohd Iskandar bin Illyas Tan (from AHIBS UTM) and Dr. Zuhra Junaida binti Ir Mohamad Husny (from FABU UTM). HOLISTICS Lab Sdn Bhd is a company that focuses on providing technology solution especially for Halal industry.
One of technology developed by HOLISTICS Lab Sdn Bhd called QuikHalal emerged as the winner of Malaysia Commercialization Year 2018 Consolation Award for the category of Research Entrepreneur. QuikHalal, is the first cloud-based mobile halal auditing apps.
QuikHalal is a product of intensive research and development since 2009 which enter the commercialization phase in 2015 after completing the copyright. QuikHalal able to enhances the auditor’s productivity by facilitating and expediting the management of halal audits through efficient audit planning, systematic data collection, information on-line sharing and providing pre-defined audit checklist.
The award presented by YB Puan Yeo Bee Yin, the Minister of Malaysia Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTEEC). She also witnessed the Memorandum of Agreement exchange between HOLISTICS Lab Sdn Bhd and Gerbang Alaf Sdn Bhd (McDonalds Malaysia). Under the MoA, Gerbang Alaf Sdn Bhd will use QuikHalal to assist their internal halal audit in all McDonalds outlets in Malaysia in 2019.
