PUTRA HEIGHTS, January 27, 2024 – In an exhilarating display of skill and technological prowess, the ‘Drone Sport Technology Racing; Underground.kl FPV Drone Race’ took place on January 27, 2024, at the vibrant venue of Putra Heights, Selangor. The event, organized by a community-driven knowledge transfer program (KTP), aimed to create awareness for the thrilling world of drone sports while fostering technological readiness and building strong community bonds. The venue at Putra Heights served as the perfect backdrop for the high-speed action that unfolded in the skies. Drone enthusiasts from the local community and beyond gathered to witness the spectacular showcase of agility and precision in the air. The sprawling landscape and strategically designed racecourse added an extra layer of challenge, pushing participants to navigate through obstacles with finesse.
The success of the event was made possible through the collaborative efforts of various supporting partners. Local community drone pilots played a pivotal role, bringing their expertise and passion to the forefront; Rotor Hazard Timing, RHCloud.com, Barracuda Tune, Drone for Speed (DFS), Gemfan Prop, Sports Innovation & Technology Centre (SITC) Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), and the Drone Racing Association Malaysia (DRAM) contributed their resources and support, ensuring a seamless and thrilling experience for all involved. Additionally, the generous contributions of individuals added a personal touch to the event’s success.
A total of 26 participants showcased their skills and competed fiercely in the race. Each drone, equipped with cutting-edge technology, whizzed through the air, leaving spectators in awe of the precision and speed on display. The diverse group of participants brought a range of expertise to the event, from seasoned professionals to newcomers, creating a dynamic and inclusive atmosphere.
The event successfully created awareness for drone sports, capturing the imagination of both participants and spectators. The immersive experience allowed attendees to witness firsthand the excitement and potential of this emerging sport. Secondly, the event empowered the local community for technology readiness. By bringing together technology enthusiasts and providing a platform for them to engage with state-of-the-art equipment, the program stimulated curiosity and knowledge-sharing. Participants had the opportunity to explore the latest advancements in drone technology and gain hands-on experience.
