UTM strengthens ASCEND 2030 through Japan’s leading universities

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) strengthened its global research excellence and innovation through a strategic mission to Japan’s four highest-ranked universities. The mission supports UTM’s ASCEND 2030 goals, particularly in advancing research excellence, global talent, and strategic international networks. UTM aims to deepen partnerships with the universities through inter-university agreements, joint research, and talent mobility.

Weaving the future on the Silk Road: UTM-BSU strengthen academic and research collaboration

A delegation from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) visited Bukhara State University (BSU) in Uzbekistan to strengthen academic and research collaboration, exploring opportunities in education, research, innovation, and knowledge exchange. The visit resulted in the establishment of an initial Letter of Collaboration (LOC) between UTM and BSU, paving the way for future collaborations. The mission also highlighted the potential for joint research projects, publications, and student and staff mobility between the two institutions.

ICA UTM co-organizes 10th ICABB 2026 in Türkiye, strengthening collaboration

The Innovation Centre in Agritechnology for Advanced Bioprocessing (ICA) at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) co-organized the 10th International Congress on Advances in Bioscience and Biotechnology (ICABB 2026) in Türkiye, marking a decade of international scientific engagement and collaboration with Aksaray University. The congress featured keynote speakers and researchers from around the world, showcasing ICA UTM’s active engagement and strengthening its visibility within the international scientific community. The partnership between UTM and Aksaray University has progressed beyond conference organization to include joint research, staff attachments, and co-supervision of postgraduate students.

Empowering educators through ethical GenAI: EduPEAK’s first workshop

The EduPEAK project, a 18-month initiative, aims to empower Malaysian educators to integrate Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) safely and ethically into modern classrooms. The project’s first workshop was held at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, providing local educators with practical experience in applying ethical GenAI teaching strategies. The project seeks to train 20-30 core teachers, who will mentor approximately 200 secondary school students in responsible GenAI practices.

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) has strengthened its global research collaboration and mobility through the European Union’s Horizon Europe program, connecting with leading institutions in Europe and other partner countries. The program enables researchers to access advanced research facilities, expertise, and international networks, facilitating knowledge sharing, collaborative research, and researcher mobility. UTM’s participation in Horizon Europe has expanded its research network, enhanced researcher mobility, and established sustainable collaborations with international institutions.
