ForCES’19
Forensic Civil Engineering Seminar 2019
STRUCTURAL ASSESSMENT: FROM THEORY TO APPLICATION
Forensic Engineering Centre (FEC), Institute of Smart Infrastructure & Innovative Construction (ISIIC), School of Civil Engineering with collaboration of The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (Southern Branch) are delighted to organize the annual Forensic Civil Engineering Seminar (ForCES’19) on 19 – 20 November 2019 at Pulai Springs Resort, Johor Bahru with 13 BEM CPD Points and 20 CIDB CCD Points. This year is the 4th time this seminar is organized to offer opportunities for Practicing Engineers, Consultants, Contractors, Facility Management Professionals, Legal Professionals, Students, Academicians & other interested parties to gain theoretical & practical understanding in the field of Forensic Engineering investigation.
About the Seminar
In this seminar, the compendiums of case studies will be presented by experienced speakers who are practicing Engineers & Academicians from different areas in Civil Engineering forensic investigation. This include failure criteria, assessment, reporting, monitoring, maintenance, repair techniques in Civil Engineering structures.
Why this Seminar is Important?
Engineers frequently deal with old & aging structures. These need competency in dealing issues with structural failure, rehabilitation & maintenance. Furthermore, due to rapid urbanization which consequently causes failure in construction, Civil & Structural Engineers must remain vigilant on safety, quality, life cycle of the structure & sustainability.
Hands-on Session
In Day 2, participants will have the opportunity to apply drone and terrestrial laser scanner applications in structural assessment & inspection.
