Earthquake : Design and Analysis of Structures

Speaker: Mr. Mohd Zamri Ramli
Fee: RM 300.00 / day
Duration: 1 day
Synopsis:
The course highlight the structural damage caused by the June 2015 Ranau , Sabah Earthquake. The type of damage and the actual forces of earthquakes versus forecast intensity predicted by experts are also discussed. The course also addressed the issues related to the implementation of building design under Eurocodes 8 in Malaysia especially with the design requirements for ground condition and seismic action. The manual calculation of earthquake forces with helpfull hands-on on several examples are also conducted. The used of softwares with various ductility class design method are also introduced. Speaker also highlight the application of damping system such as rubber damper and base isolation system. This course will provide participants with a broad knowledge in the relevant fields in addition to the opportunity to learn from leading scholars in the field of earthquake engineering.
