Synopsis
This one day short course is designed to expose the participants to the analysis and design of temporary structures, particularly those that are made of tubular steel members. The design method is based on the relevant standard. Also, general introduction on forensic investigation of structural failure will be incorporated into this short course. The combination of these two important scopes of knowledge will not benefit the participants on the construction aspects, but also on how to avoid failures involving temporary structures.
This course is structured as follows:
| Topic 1 | – Introduction to Design of Temporary Structures |
| Topic 2 | – Analysis and Design of Temporary Structures |
| Topic 3 | – Construction Practice of Temporary Structures |
| Topic 4 | – Failure of Temporary Structures |
| Topic 5 | – Introduction to Forensic Structural Engineering |
