Dr. Kew Si Na, a senior lecturer at the Language Academy, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH) at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and a member of the Technology and Language Education (TLE) Research Group, was recently honored with the Young Researchers Award 2024 at the 4th International Conference on Educational Technology. The conference, which took place in China, focused on the theme “Data-Intelligence Augmented Educational Technologies” and brought together academics and professionals to discuss how educational technologies could enhance learning effectiveness.
The keynote speakers included prominent experts such as Professor Xiangen Hu from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HKPU), Professor Dragan Gašević from Monash University, Professor Siu Cheung Kong from Education University of Hong Kong (EduHK), Professor Minhong (Maggie) Wang from The University of Hong Kong (HKU), and Professor Qi Liu from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC).
Dr. Kew’s research in educational technology and language learning has significantly contributed to the field, particularly in areas such as learning analytics, technology-enhanced learning, Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), and computer-assisted language learning. The Young Researchers Award 2024 recognizes her impactful work at the intersection of technology and education.
