JOHOR BAHRU, 4 Jan. − A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signing ceremony has been signed today between the Institute of Bioproduct Development (IBD) UTM and Kinross Ptd Ltd, Singapore.
The collaborations aims to foster relationships with industry and to strengthen the position of a research culture in development and innovation-based economic growth. It is aligned with the UTM Research and Innovation Blueprint 2025 for the benefit of all societal tiers in the country.
The agreement was signed by UTM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Datuk Ts. Dr. Ahmad Fauzi Ismail and Executive Chairman of Kinross Ptd Ltd., Mr. Johnny Lian.
IBD, is led by the project team Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chua Lee Suan, for Soil Quality Improvement Using KinTerra and KinAqua worth RM100,000.00. Through the development of these method could meet the needs good health and well-being (SDG3) and improve the quality of life.
The UTM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Datuk Ahmad Fauzi would like to see continuation of this joint efforts for building a long-term and strategic partnership between UTM & Kinross Ptd Ltd. to spearhead translational research in biotechnology. He is also convinced that this innovative alliance will lead to a new generation of top-notch biotechnology advancements.
Esteemed representatives from UTM were also present at the ceremony, including Director of IBD, Professor Dr Hesham A. El-Enshasy, Deputy Director of IBD, Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Mazura Jusoh, representative from Centre of Community and Industry Network (CCIN) UTM, Dr Sabrinah Adam, and representatives from IBD.
