To facilitate the adoption of JSM Tools, two dedicated workshops were organized for JSM staff. These sessions provided hands-on training to familiarize participants with the new tools. The workshops focused on practical applications, ensuring that staff could effectively implement the standardized templates and writing guidelines in their daily tasks.

This initiative aligns with the strategic role of JSM as the National Standards Body and National Accreditation Body under the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI). Governed by the Standards of Malaysia Act 1996 (Act 549), JSM has been at the forefront of delivering credible standardization and accreditation services since its establishment on August 28, 1996. The department plays a pivotal role in ensuring Malaysia’s global competitiveness by upholding international standards.

The development of JSM Tools represents a significant milestone for both UTM and JSM. By introducing a unified approach to document creation and management, the tool fosters consistency, reduces redundancy, and improves overall productivity. This advancement is not only expected to benefit JSM but also its stakeholders, as it supports the department’s mission of maintaining excellence in standardization and accreditation.

The project also reflects UTM’s unwavering commitment to driving innovation and contributing to national progress. By addressing the specific needs of JSM, the university demonstrates its capability to provide practical solutions that align with Malaysia’s broader development goals.

The collaboration between UTM and JSM underscores the importance of academic-industry partnerships in achieving impactful outcomes. As JSM Tools becomes an integral part of the department’s operations, it is set to reinforce Malaysia’s standing in the global standards community.

For updates on this and other initiatives, follow UTM’s research and development efforts as they continue to deliver innovative solutions that benefit society at large.
