KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 13 — The UTM Toastmasters Club (TMC) played a distinguished role at the International Young Future Leaders Summit (iFUTURE 2025), serving as the official Masters of Ceremony for several key sessions held from 11 to 13 October 2025 at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTC).
The summit, themed “Igniting Global Youth Leadership for the Digital Era,” convened more than 800 student leaders from over 60 countries, creating a global dialogue on leadership, values, and digital readiness. Organised by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), the event brought together Malaysia’s top leaders, industry experts, and young changemakers to chart the future of youth empowerment in the age of artificial intelligence.
Representing UTM TMC, the emcee line-up included Dr. Ahmad Faiz Mohammad, Dr. Abdullah Nawi, Dr. Sofiazianti Saleh, Syaza Soraya Sauli, Ang Chin Xiang, Mohammad Hashim Saleh Al Takrouri, and Ng Chor Hong. Throughout the summit, they showcased their professionalism and confidence in hosting high-profile sessions featuring YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia; YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Deputy Prime Minister; and YB Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir, Minister of Higher Education.
From plenary forums to keynote addresses, the UTM TMC members embodied the university’s commitment to excellence in leadership and communication. Their poised delivery and bilingual fluency reflected the core values of Toastmasters training — clarity, confidence, and connection. Each emcee demonstrated the ability to command large audiences, bridge cultural perspectives, and maintain composure under the spotlight of an international stage.
“Toastmasters has taught us that true leadership begins with the courage to speak and the willingness to listen,” shared one of the UTM TMC representatives. “Serving as emcees at iFUTURE 2025 was a humbling experience that allowed us to represent UTM and Malaysia in a space where young voices shape the future.”
The success of the UTM Toastmasters Club at iFUTURE 2025 underscores the university’s holistic approach to developing well-rounded graduates who are not only technically skilled but also articulate, empathetic, and globally engaged. Through platforms like Toastmasters, UTM continues to nurture communicators who lead with purpose, inspire collaboration, and bring the human touch to the digital era.
