UTMCS hosts Agenda Discussion with Green Manager

JOHOR BAHRU, 19 Feb – The UTM Campus Sustainability Office (UTMCS) convened a discussion today with Green Managers from all faculties, divisions, and units within Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). The meeting, held at the Student Union Building (SUB) Seminar Hall, focused on developing and implementing a comprehensive Sustainability Agenda aimed at accelerating UTM’s transition toward a more environmentally responsible and sustainable institution. This discussion also provided a platform for Green Managers to share their insights, identify key priorities, and collaborate on strategies for achieving ambitious sustainability goals across all sectors of the university. Key topics discussed included energy efficiency, waste management and recycling, sustainable transportation, water conservation, and education and sustainability awareness among students, faculty, and staff. “This meeting underscores our commitment to fostering a culture of sustainability within UTM’s components. We firmly believe that by working collaboratively with our Green Managers, we can build a truly sustainable campus, contribute to a healthier planet, and inspire the next generation of leaders,” said the Deputy Director of UTMCS Kuala Lumpur, Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Shamsul Sarip, who represented the Director of UTMCS, Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd Fadhil Md. Din. The meeting concluded with Green Managers expressing optimism about the collaborative approach and committing to actively championing sustainability initiatives within their respective faculties, divisions, and units. Also present at this session were Senior Assistant Registrars of UTMCS, Kiflee Jimpi, and staff from both UTMCS Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur branches.
