A mangrove replanting program was conducted as a part of CSR program between UTM-UMCares-On Semiconductor Sdn. Bhd. The aims of this program is to create and awareness to the local communities and staff about the importance of our mangrove ecosystem. Around 200 volunteers from On-Semiconductor Sdn Bhd, UM (UMCares), UTM (COEI), Politeknik Port Dickson, Jabatan Perhutanan Port Dickson and local communities had been participated in the event. The program had been officiated by YB Ravi a/l Munusamy (ADUN Port Dickson). Around 800 mangrove seedling from species Rhizophora mucronata had been planted on the day.
Two briefing session had been conducted for On-Semiconductor Staff at On-Semiconductor Water Fab Factory, Senawang. The briefing is about the importance of mangrove ecosystem, e-tagging technology, replanting technique and safety measure during the event
The program was participated by 200 volunteers from all background and ages. Volunteers were exposed to the best mangrove replanting technique. Around 800 mangrove seedling were tagged and planted during the event at Pantai Cahaya Negeri, Port Dickson. The aims of this activity is to nurture the loves to the mangrove ecosystem among the volunteers and corporate level. The successful event had increase the engagement and technology transfer from the University to the corporate company.
