On 24 March 2014, UTM ICA was delighted to have Mr Tan Chun Chuang, Chief Executive Director of Arus Primajaya Sdn Bhd to share his precious experience in managing tissue culture based company. Since its establishment, the company has been a trusted source for seedlings production of banana, ginger and pineapple that are genetically stable and virus free in Malaysia. This second lecture series has gathered once again all the main agriculture industry players as well as researchers to look upon the potential of tissue culture seedlings in ensuring the national food security.
The participation in this event was overwhelming and all the participants eagerly asked several questions to the speaker regarding on the success factor of his company management. Mr Tan also shared the basic information on awareness of application tissue culture seedling as a starting planting material among farmers.
From this lecture event, it will foster and explore the potential R&D and industry collaborations between Arus Primajaya and UTM ICA.
