UTM CRC
Established as a premier research institution, the UTM Construction Research Centre is a hub for groundbreaking research and development in various aspects of construction. Our work spans advanced construction technologies, structural engineering, project management, and sustainability. By addressing real-world challenges and pioneering innovative solutions, we aim to enhance construction practices’ safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
FEC
Forensic Research Centre is dedicated to advancing the science of forensic investigation and analysis. As a leading institution in forensic research, the mission is to drive innovation and excellence in forensic science, supporting criminal investigations and the broader scientific community.
GEOTROPIK
Established in February 2016, GEOTROPIK addresses complex geoengineering challenges in tropical climates. This multidisciplinary center serves both industry and government, offering cutting-edge research facilities and a skilled team. With expertise in areas like Geotechnics, Geology, Geohazards, and more, GEOTROPIK fosters strong networks, resource sharing, and knowledge exchange.
KALAM
Established in June 1996, our center emerged from extensive Measured Drawing projects focused on Malaysia’s historical buildings, driven by a commitment to preserving the nation’s rapidly vanishing architectural heritage. Since 1975, these efforts have accumulated, leading to comprehensive research for identifying, classifying, and analyzing architectural heritage through both Undergraduate and Post-Graduate studies. Today, KALAM boasts a documentary collection of over 600 buildings, including Residences, Palaces, Mosques, Public Buildings, Commercial Buildings, Wakaf, Madrasahs, and Tombs.
UTM CRES
The Centre for Real Estate Studies, established in 1997, is UTM’s Centre of Excellence in Real Estate. It supports a wide range of research and educational activities within the Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying. The Centre addresses the needs of the real estate and facilities management industry by advancing research, knowledge, and professional practice. Through inter-institutional collaboration and information exchange between the University and the industry, it ensures a rich and practical learning experience.
