Research (Laser)

A femtosecond laser is a laser which emits optical pulses with a duration well below 1 ps (→ ultrashort pulses), in the time frame of femtoseconds (1 fs = 10−15 s). Also belongs to the category of ultrafast lasers or ultrashort pulse lasers.

Excimer lasers emitting ultraviolet light with wavelengths shorter than 350 nm

The carbon dioxide laser (CO2 laser) was one of the earliest gas lasers to be developed.   The CO2 laser produces a beam of infrared light with the principal wavelength bands centering on 9.4 and 10.6 micrometers (μm).
