UTM International Hosts Strategic Mobility Workshop to Foster Global Academic Excellence

On September 5th, 2024, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) International Kuala Lumpur organized a significant Mobility Workshop. The workshop aimed to strengthen the faculty’s engagement with UTM’s diverse international student mobility programs. Faculty members from the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence (FAI), Azman Hashim International Business School (AHIBS), and the Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT) actively participated in the event. The goal was to explore new avenues for enhancing students’ academic journeys through global exposure.

In her welcoming remarks, Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Nur Azaliah Abu Bakar, Associate Director of UTM International Kuala Lumpur, emphasized the university’s unwavering commitment to providing students with transformative international experiences. “We believe that global mobility is not just an opportunity for academic enrichment but also a crucial step in shaping well-rounded individuals who can thrive in a globalized world. This workshop is a testament to our dedication to equipping our faculties with the tools and knowledge necessary to guide our students towards these invaluable opportunities,” she stated.

The workshop included presentations from Dr. Ahmad Fadhil Yusof and Ms. Zetty Raihan Haji Mohd Yassin from the UTM Johor Bahru Mobility team. They discussed various mobility programs such as long-term exchanges, research internships, and academic visits aimed at promoting cross-cultural understanding and academic excellence. Mdm. Su Zalpha, who led the session, explained the application procedures, eligibility criteria, and support services available to students. This includes guidance on visa applications, accommodation arrangements, and continuous mentoring. She emphasized the significant impact these international experiences can have on students’ academic and professional development.

 

This workshop is a significant part of UTM International’s efforts to empower faculty members as advocates for global learning opportunities. It aligns with UTM’s mission to nurture globally competent graduates. By improving the faculty’s understanding and involvement in student mobility, UTM aims to inspire more students to take advantage of these opportunities and expand their academic horizons.
