UTM Innovations Shine Bright at Malaysia Technology Expo 2024 (MTE): Securing 3 Gold, 3 Silver Medals, and Special Award

Kuala Lumpur, February 24, 2024 – Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) has once again demonstrated its innovative capabilities at the Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) 2024, held from February 22 to 24 at the World Trade Center (WTC), Kuala Lumpur. UTM showcased six innovative solutions and received recognition and accolades for each one. This marks a significant milestone for the university, as it continues to live up to its tagline, “Innovating Solutions.”

The event, known as the MTE 2024, is famous for promoting and recognizing technological advancements and innovative solutions. People from different parts of the world participated in this event as participants or visitors. Many innovations were showcased during the event, but the contributions of UTM were the most remarkable. Their contributions highlighted the institution’s commitment to innovation and research while remaining true to its mission to go global.

The following innovations from UTM captured the attention of judges and visitors:

Title of Innovation: Oil2Wang – Smart IoT Used Cooking Oil Collection Kiosk

Result: GOLD (Special Award From Japan Intellectual Property Association)

Title of Innovation: Structural Dynamic Monitoring For Ageing Offshore Platforms
