We appreciate the dedication and valuable contribution of YBhg. Prof Dato’ Ir. Dr. A Bakar Jaafar, FASc as Akademi Sains Malaysia Vice-President 2020-2022 and 2022-2024.

His excellent leadership in ASM has contributed to major milestones in the development of Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion technology achievement in Malaysia; including the inclusion of OTEC in Malaysia National Energy Policy 2022-2040 and recently the enactment of Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion Act 2024 by Sabah State Legislative Assembly.
