The 3rd National Workshop on Ocean Energy held on 17 May 2017 @UTM KL has concluded with a success with participation of 347Â registered participants from various sectors of the economy: industries,including oil & gas, academia,students, professional services, governmental and inter-governmental agencies,and non-governmental organisations. Other than from Malaysia, there was a number of other countries: France, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines,Singapore, UK & USA.
The existing laws are sufficient to govern any application of OTEC Project in Malaysia. However, for further growth of ocean thermal energy driven development, a new law specific on ocean energy, including ocean thermal energy would be necessarily required.
