Johor Bahru, 16 March 2026 – Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) successfully organised an online training program titled “Energy Efficiency Financing Opportunity Training” on 16 March 2026 via Webex. The four-hour program aimed to provide participants with knowledge on financing opportunities and incentives for implementing energy efficiency projects.
The training was attended by 2 participants from 2 companies in Johor. Throughout the session, participants actively engaged in the program’s activities, which included interactive lectures, case study exercises, and quizzes designed to reinforce understanding of the course topics. These exercises allowed participants to apply concepts discussed during the training and explore practical approaches to securing financing for energy efficiency projects. The programme was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zarina Abd Muis, who shared insights on energy efficiency financing and related industry practices. Participants from organisations such as Bridge Data Centres II Sdn Bhd and E Power Test Services were among those who attended the training.
Based on the training evaluation, participants found the program very relevant to their job roles. They also agreed that the training duration and activities were appropriate. Participants reported improved understanding of energy efficiency topics, including energy-efficient technologies, relevant policies, and energy audit reports. In terms of learning resources, the quality of the training materials—including course notes, illustrations, supplementary references, and working sessions—was rated good to excellent. Participants also gave high ratings to the trainer, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zarina Abd Muis, particularly for her subject mastery, clarity of presentation, interaction with participants, and overall preparedness.
