Assoc. Prof Dr Zarina Ab Muis
Director of PROSPECT
Dr. Zarina Ab Muis is an Associate Professor at Faculty of Chemical and Energy Engineering, and Director of Process Systems Engineering Centre (PROSPECT), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Sains Malaysia, Master’s in Advanced Process Engineering from Loughborough University, UK and PhD from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. She specializes in process planning/scheduling, modeling, simulation and optimization. Her research activities are focused on sustainability, energy planning, renewable electricity generation and Renewable Energy distributed electricity generation (DEG) system, low carbon society (LCS), climate change mitigation strategy. Dr. Zarina is a Registered Electrical and Energy Manager (REEM) awarded by Suruhanjaya Tenaga. She is also a Certified Energy Manager awarded by ASEAN Energy Management Schemes (AEMAS). She is a registered engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and Graduate Member of Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE).

Assoc. Prof Ts. Dr Ho Wai Shin
Deputy Director of PROSPECT
He specializes in applied system optimization in relation to sustainable development, such as renewable energy, waste management, energy efficiency, and energy system automation and monitoring. He had been involved in numerous consultation projects in sustainable development and energy services. Among his notable works are the development of low carbon blueprint for Iskandar Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, and Pengerang.

He specializes in process integration, energy efficiency, and sustainable chemical engineering systems, with internationally recognized expertise in pinch analysis and resource-efficient industrial optimization.

Prof. Ir. Dr Haslenda Hashim
Research Fellow
She has delivered capacity-building training in energy and sustainability and supported numerous industries in establishing Energy Management Systems (EnMS), conducting energy audits, and proposing energy efficiency and decarbonisation measures, enabling organisations to enhance energy performance and advance towards industrial decarbonisation.
